The Master Communicator: Life-Changing Questions Jesus Asked| TIME TO CONSIDER VOTING | | Posted by Georgia on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 2:07pm | We will be voting this year, hopefully, for a man who can lead the United States out of, at least, a great portion of its financial debt. It is important that this man, who is given the privilege of being president, wil be a man who lives a life of real faith. Someone who knows God's Word and lives it. For America has been blessed unendingly by God, who has granted us tremendous provisions and status beyond measure - far above other lands.
Americans need to chose wisely those who hold all government offices in the days ahead, so that those in office do not imply that we can run this country without the help of God. Those countries who have tried in the past to live on their own have failed, and we can learn a valuable lesson from history on the subject.
Christians don't be deceived by the ways of the world by accepting what may be put into law in our land, if God has already spoken directly against the subject. Stand firm in your faith and please God, not man.
The Almighty God and Creator does allow men and women the choice to turn away from His guidance and walk their own path, but there are consequences when we do. God never usurps man's right to use his free-will. But, when man exchanges the truth of God for a lie, that man becomes a fool who fails to honor God and esteem Him worthy to guide. We need to be a thankful nation, who respects God's leadership and all the privileges that He has bestowed upon us. We need to chose wisely who we will serve, including the next president and government officials.
Your vote can be a part of an important turning point for America - a time of turning back to God's Truth and His principles that will result in our being a great, debt-free nation, and more, because God gives freely to those who honor Him. | | | | | HAPPY NEW YEAR | | Posted by Georgia on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 12:56am | This is the time of year when many people make New Year resolutions - a mental pledge to themselves, and often to God, of what they intend to do in the days ahead. With determination, they plan to make changes to better themselves by giving up old habits and striving to establish new and better ones. All done with good intentions! But within a short period of time, they are right back in the same old rut, struggling.
Without realizing what is truly happening, they soon fall short of their goals, all because people strive to keep their solemn promises to themselves and our Creator in their own strength. Instead of asking our Father in heaven what His goals for life are meant to be, we often attempt to do things in our own power. Yet, it is God who does the real, lasting transformation in our lives. By His power and only by His grace can we change!
In fact, God warns that it is better not to vow something than to vow and fail to keep our promises (Ecclesiastes 5:4-5). He wants us to be sincere, willing to listen, and to put forth effort in what we say, rather than to speak empty words.
Out of respect for God, we should only say what we mean and mean what we say, letting the Holy Spirit determine our real course in life. Don't start the New Year struggling to meet your own goals. Just go into this New Year with hope that you will be a good listener to what God says, and a better doer of what He asks.
Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR. | | | | | OUR GIFT | | Posted by Georgia on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:11am | This being the time of the year to give gifts to those you love, what gift will you give to the One who loves you most? There wil be a lot of gifts exchanged on Christmas day for parents give gifts to their children, and children bring gifts to their folks. Brothers and sisters swap various items, while aunts and uncles do the same with loved ones. Even friends find something special to give to their friends. It's the time of year when people like to express their love for one another.
Some of us buy gifts for the ones we care about and even want to impress, or maybe develop a deeper relationship with. But, do we put as much effort in giving time and attention to God and His Son, Jesus, who is the reason we have Christmas. Since He is Lord and King of a heavenly Kingdom that will soon come into being here on earth, our gifts to Him should be the very best we can bring to Him. And, the best gift you can give to God is your life, committed fully to Him.
Why? Well, God is a generous giver of many things to His people. As Creator, He gave each of us life and the very air we breathe. But He also gave us the opportunity to have eternal life through the sacrifice of His own Son on the cross. This is a gift that we don't deserve and cannot earn. Yet, it is a gift that began on Christmas when a baby was born.
If we accept God's gift of eternal life by believing in what Christ has done for us, then God adopts us into His family. But, God doesn't stop giving at that point for He desires to bless us richly when we live for Him. That means His children strive to live in a way that is good for all people. This honors the Lord, because it shows our love for Him.
Some people unfortunately have grown up without real love being shown to them, so God's offer of true love is hard to believe in. But, God takes each broken one and makes them whole. I assure you that our Creator has great love for us all, and wants to bless our lives abundantly. So this Christmas don't become lost in all the gift exchange of presents that are temporary and will soon be gone, but give wholeheartedly to those who need your personal presence, your total dedication to family and friends, and especially give your ALL to God. You won't be disappointed when you do! For you will gain the peace and mercy of God, the divine love of Christ Jesus, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
Have a Merry Christmas by enjoying the presence of God in your life. | | | | | TIS THE SEASON | | Posted by Georgia on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2:17pm | Are you busy preparing for Christmas? Shopping for those special gifts for loved ones? Do you have certain traditions that you never vary from? What is the real reason for Christimas? Do you get carried away with all the decorating and planning special meals for family and friends that you have little time for nothing else? These questions, and many more, are asked just about every year. But really, what are the most important events for this time of the year?
With the birth of the baby Jesus over 2,000 years ago, the choices we make today were set in action. The angel of the Lord that day told the shepherds in the fields that he brought good news for ALL people that a Savior had been born in Bethlehem. Think of that - a Savior was with them! Later, this Jesus was presented by His parents, Mary and Joseph, to the Lord at the temple, as the first-born Son. As an older man, Simeon, entered the temple, he immediately recognized the baby Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah, or the anointed One of God - the Light to the entire world. What a revelation!
There was aslo a prophetess, Anna, present, who as a widow at the age of eighty-four, lived in the temple. When she saw the baby Jesus, Anna from that day forward spoke to everyone about Him to whoever wanted redemption. What a wise evangelist!
Even the Magi from the east came to find this Jesus, who they proclaimed was born King of the Jews and that they had come to worship Him. Out of Israel was to come a Good Shepherd, and these men from a far land had come to present Him gifts for they knew He was the expected Messiah. What faith!
This tiny baby was Immanuel - God with us. The One whom we should be worshipping for He gave His life that we might be reconciled to God. As each Christmas comes, we need to choice wisely what plays an important part in our lives. Do we want to recognize this Jesus as our Lord and worship Him, or do we prefer to spend our time at parties, going into debt for lavish gifts, running ourselves ragged getting ready for social events, and wishing that Christmas was just over? This Jesus loves ALL peoples and desires a loving relationship with each of us. So may you make the right choice and really enjoy the season.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
| | | | | IN HIS PRESENCE | | Posted by Georgia on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 5:29pm | When Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden at the beginning of time, they walked with God Himself. Both experienced a regular face to face encounter with their Maker. At the close of the day, they could look forward to a special time alone with God. It was a unique time of sharing in a relationship of perfection and holiness in God's presence.
After God had created the heavens and earth and all there in, including man, He proclaimed it very good. There were no imperfections! There were no pain or sorrow, no concerns or worries, and no want or need unmet. When God appeared and strolled with Adam and Eve, it was a special time of companionship. Everything was good and right in Eden.
When Christ Jesus, God's Son, was here on earth, He walked daily with His disciples. They got to know Him personally, ask Him questions, eat with Him, listen to His messages, and watch Him do many marvelous signs and miracles of healing. For a short thirty-three years, God lived among men and eased their lives with His compassionate care of a Shepherd.
Some day soon, redeemed man will again walk with God and spend eternity in His presence. That day is fast approaching! His golden promise is that there will be no sin, suffering, or death in heaven, for those things will have been done away with at the Lord's Coming. We will dwell in a holy place as transformed men and women of God living in perfect peace. God goes on in His Word to encourage us to store up treasures in heaven, for His plan includes our living in a place prepared for us to really enjoy. We can come into His presence and stroll with Him as His children.
With all the discontent, bickering, wars, personal destruction, and pain happening now here on earth, we should all be looking forward to, and praying for, such a lasting time of peace in eternity with God. Set your personal goal to be a part of those believers who stroll with God in joy and wonderful peace. Also in the mean time, grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus until that day when He comes as King of kings and Lord of lords to make our dwelling with Him in heaven a reality. | | | |
